M83 trivia begins with the story of a French electronic rock group formed in Antibes in 1999 by Nicolas Fromageau and Anthony Gonzalez. After touring behind their second album, Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts, Fromageau departed, leaving Gonzalez to steer M83’s evolving, cinematic sound into one of the most distinctive projects in modern synth-driven music.
